Twelve Days and Counting…..
I hope you are having an awesome week. This has been a busy but exciting time for WMI and its family of ministries. Yes—twelve days and counting down to November 1st! And in case you haven’t heard, we are in the middle of moving all our operations to the new property we are purchasing and with the Lord’s help, we will have our first official service on Sunday, November 1, 2009.
Most of the offices have already been moved and we are busy with the preparations for the kids’ building and eagerly awaiting the arrival of our 50×100 tent that will seat 350! God has been faithful to us and though we can’t see the finish line yet, we know He will carry us all the way!
We want to say thanks to our staff and to those that have been out this week to help with the moving process. Also, to all the IFTA students for their blood, sweat and tears and especially Ps Rusty Gross—you are a huge blessing and such an integral part. May God richly bless you for your hours of hard work—we know it is truly a labor of love.
As we pray and plan for our first service, I know many of you are fasting and praying along with Ps Joe and myself. We believe God is going to do something supernatural and that we are going to be able to minister to so many more than ever before. I am reminded of Ps Joe’s message this past Sunday and that we have to see the church as a missions’ hub for the outreach and evangelism God has called us to. Yes, we have schools for training but we also are going to be evangelizing all around our church. We will be sending teams to knock on doors and reach out to folks in our community. Of course, our travels will still take us to the far-flung corners of the earth but we must start with our own “Jerusalem”.
Remember this: The Great Commission was not the Great Suggestion! Matthew 28 says:
16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.
17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Friends, we believe, under the direction of the Head of the Church, that we are to enlarge our boundaries, spread out the tent pegs (Isa. 54:1-3) and reach as many with the good news of the gospel as possible.
As we pray this week, let’s use Gal 5:20 as our pattern and pray for the fruit of the Spirit to be active in our church and in our people.
• “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law”.
• Let’s ask the Lord for wisdom, knowledge and resources as we grow and expand.
• Please remember Carol Tompkins sister, Joleen in prayer. She may have to have knee surgery.
One reminder– if you have prayer requests or praise reports, we would love to hear from you. We want to agree with you to see your needs met in Jesus’ Name.
Remember, this next Sunday is our last Sunday at the current location! Join us as we celebrate our past and look forward to our future!
Blessings,
Ps Joe and Becky and the team
