Twelve Days and Counting…..

Thursday, October 22nd, 2009

I hope you are having an awesome week. This has been a busy but exciting time for WMI and its family of ministries. Yes—twelve days and counting down to November 1st! And in case you haven’t heard, we are in the middle of moving all our operations to the new property we are purchasing and with the Lord’s help, we will have our first official service on Sunday, November 1, 2009.

Most of the offices have already been moved and we are busy with the preparations for the kids’ building and eagerly awaiting the arrival of our 50×100 tent that will seat 350! God has been faithful to us and though we can’t see the finish line yet, we know He will carry us all the way!

We want to say thanks to our staff and to those that have been out this week to help with the moving process. Also, to all the IFTA students for their blood, sweat and tears and especially Ps Rusty Gross—you are a huge blessing and such an integral part. May God richly bless you for your hours of hard work—we know it is truly a labor of love.

As we pray and plan for our first service, I know many of you are fasting and praying along with Ps Joe and myself. We believe God is going to do something supernatural and that we are going to be able to minister to so many more than ever before. I am reminded of Ps Joe’s message this past Sunday and that we have to see the church as a missions’ hub for the outreach and evangelism God has called us to. Yes, we have schools for training but we also are going to be evangelizing all around our church. We will be sending teams to knock on doors and reach out to folks in our community. Of course, our travels will still take us to the far-flung corners of the earth but we must start with our own “Jerusalem”.

Remember this: The Great Commission was not the Great Suggestion! Matthew 28 says:

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go.
17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted.
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Friends, we believe, under the direction of the Head of the Church, that we are to enlarge our boundaries, spread out the tent pegs (Isa. 54:1-3) and reach as many with the good news of the gospel as possible.

As we pray this week, let’s use Gal 5:20 as our pattern and pray for the fruit of the Spirit to be active in our church and in our people.

• “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law”.
• Let’s ask the Lord for wisdom, knowledge and resources as we grow and expand.
• Please remember Carol Tompkins sister, Joleen in prayer. She may have to have knee surgery.

One reminder– if you have prayer requests or praise reports, we would love to hear from you. We want to agree with you to see your needs met in Jesus’ Name.

Remember, this next Sunday is our last Sunday at the current location! Join us as we celebrate our past and look forward to our future!

Blessings,
Ps Joe and Becky and the team

We’re moving with the cloud

Thursday, October 15th, 2009

Greetings! This writing today comes from hot and sunny Florida! Ps Joe and I are attending the RMI Minister’s Conference in Tampa Florida and have really been blessed by the meetings thus far.

Many of you have received our weekly prayer directives for quite some time while others are new recipients. Because of the incredible services this week during the conference, I am sending just a short note out to ask you to continue to stand with us as we posture ourselves for transition to the new property November 1. We are so excited and full of faith as we reach forward (or should I say “step forward”) to move into the new season God has for us.

Friends, we are more convinced than ever before that we are moving “with the cloud” and that God’s hand is upon us and He is leading us just as He led the children of Israel.

Look at Exodus 40:34-38

34 Then the cloud covered the Tent of Meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. 35 Moses could not enter the Tent of Meeting because the cloud had settled upon it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
36 In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out; 37 but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out—until the day it lifted. 38 So the cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel during all their travels.

As you pray this week, would you continue to pray for the needs of this ministry? We have a wonderful team and staff that will be praying for personal needs this week during our Recharge service Wednesday night @ 6:30 pm. It’s a service you can’t afford to miss but if you will, covenant with us to pray for God’s direction, His guidance and His provision corporately.

We can’t wait to share some testimonies with you when we return home. God has been speaking to us and the future is bright with promise, purpose, people, and provision.

Your faithfulness means so much to us. We invite you to join us this weekend at one of the services and also we are putting a “plug” in for those of you in our Equip 40s+ class. Ps Joe and I have started an in depth study of the book of Romans. Its gonna be goooood! Of course, so are all the other classes so don’t miss out!

Have a great week and Ps and I are praying for abundance for you this week!

Blessings,
Ps Joe and Becky and the team

PS I will resume with the regular prayer directive next week. Love ya! PB

A great sense of obligation

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

How are you today? I trust this writing finds you blessed and happy! SOMETHING IS HAPPENING AT CITY WORSHIP CENTRE! There is an excitement in the air—there is a feeling of faith, family and a fresh change of the seasons and we know that God is moving on our behalf.

The Bible has much to say about seasons and times. Daniel 2:20-23 from the Message Bible says—

“Blessed be the name of God, forever and ever. ? He knows all, does all: He changes the seasons and guides history. ?He raises up kings and also brings them down, he provides both intelligence and discernment, He opens up the depths, tells secrets, sees in the dark—light spills out of him! God of all my ancestors, all thanks! all praise! You made me wise and strong”.

The past “SEASONS” (over 8 years) for CWC have been wonderful, hard, exciting, faith-building, magnificent, and sometimes challenging. But the future….well, the future is bright and as many of you have reminded me numerous times, THIS IS the year of new beginnings!

In making preparations to move our ministry out to the new property, we find ourselves filled with excitement and a sense of gratitude for what God has done in our humble beginnings. Countless lives have been changed, many miracles have been wrought, babies have been born, wedding vows spoken, meals have been shared, and times in the powerful presence of God have changed us all from glory to glory. We remember our first classes at the schools, our first baptisms in the church, our first graduation ceremonies, and nights of worship where the heavens seemed opened to join in our song! WOW! What glory we’ve shared and it’s so amazing that the hard times of beginning a new ministry are but a fading memory.

As we look forward to November 1, our first official service @ 13550 Hwy 290 W, we thank God for past victories but our eyes are looking forward to the “fields that are white unto harvest”. Having room to grow and spread out, we have greater opportunities to reach out into our “Jerusalem” in a greater way than ever before. Yes, we have a global mandate for missions and evangelism, but we have a strong urgency to reach out locally to our neighbors, friends, businesses and communities with the good news of the gospel.

I love the prayer Paul prays in Romans 1:10-16—

10 One of the things I always pray for is the opportunity, God willing, to come at last to see you.
11 For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord.
12 When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.
13 I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters, that I planned many times to visit you, but I was prevented until now. I want to work among you and see spiritual fruit, just as I have seen among other Gentiles.
14 For I have a great sense of obligation to people in both the civilized world and the rest of the world, to the educated and uneducated alike.
15 So I am eager to come to you in Rome, too, to preach the Good News.
16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.

Friends, we know (more than ever) that God has called us to “make disciples” and “equip the saints”. Whether through the schools, the church, or the traveling ministry, we are not ashamed of the gospel for it is the power of God at work! What a privilege it is to serve the Lord by serving His people. There is no greater honor and no higher calling!
As we pray this week, let us remember like Paul, we have a strong sense of obligation to share the love of God and the life of God with a lost and dying world and as we enter into this new season, may the words of a great song, written by Ps Ryan Cruse, be the cry of our hearts—

Take me with arms wide open
Use me as spread your love to all
This is my heart’s cry, my heart’s cry
Guide me with every step walk beside me
As I show your love to the world
That every boy and girl would know you,
My heart’s cry!

This week we are praying specifically about the new season and about the new property.

1. Pray that God’s will and purpose is established in us and through us
2. Pray that God’s supernatural power would draw people to Himself
3. Pray that God’s presence would be welcome in our new home
4. Pray that God’s abundant provision be available to us to bless others
5. Pray that God’s love for his people would be very real as people come on the property
6. Pray for wisdom as we discern the new seasons of God
7. Pray for a harvest of souls in this new season
8. Pray for servant’s hearts as we seek to train and disciple those God sends us
9. Pray for your pastors and leaders
10. Pray for a spirit of unity that would command the blessing.

Church, we love you all and thank God for sending you our way! Have a great week and remember our Recharge service this Wed @ 6:30, the workday this Saturday from 10:00-4:00 and our services on Sunday @ 8:30 and 11:00.

Be blessed,
Ps Joe and Becky and the team

The Prayer of Agreement

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

?How are you? We were praying for you today and are reminded of how important it is to pray in agreement.

Agreement is an amazing power zone. Jesus was recognizing this power when He said:

If two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them. (Matt 18:19-20)

Old Testament - Power of Agreement–God Himself verifies this early in scripture when He responds to Noah’s descendents. They have labored side-by-side with a common vision in constructing the tower of Babel. God comes to visit the project. He is not impressed because the tower is a monument to what man can do in the sheer weight of his self-will. Gen 11:6-7 says:

“Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. Come, let Us go down there and confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.”

When people come into such agreement that they have one vision and are all saying the same thing, nothing is impossible!

So God causes these people to speak in a number of different languages. People cluster by language types (of course), and spread out geographically. The power of agreement is reduced. No longer is everyone saying the same thing about an issue.

Smaller groups can come to agreement within their own limited population. But their agreement will not have the same high-octane power that was present when the pre-tower committee met to devise plans for building into the heavens.

New Testament – power of agreement–In the gospels Jesus makes it clear to us numerous times that He is doing what He sees His Father doing. He is saying what He hears His father saying. Jesus is in complete agreement with God, His Father, who is in heaven. Is it possible that this agreement is a major key to Jesus success? Such as causing:

• the blind to see
• The lame to walk
• The lepers to be made whole
• The dead to rise

When Jesus speaks (prays) in agreement with His Father, mighty things happen. The power of agreement leaves an impression! We have a tendency to say “Yeah, but that was Jesus! What does this have to do with me?”

Take a look at a couple examples of ordinary people coming into agreement with Jesus (who is in agreement with His Father). One of those people is the woman with the issue of blood (Mk 5: 25-34). She knows that Jesus is filled with the healing power of God that is to be poured out on the afflicted. ?In knowing this, the woman has come into agreement with Jesus for healing.

• All she needs to do is reach out and make a withdrawal from His healing account…which she does!
• Instantly power flows from Jesus to the woman. Her affliction of twelve years is gone.

Power of agreement merging with the force of faith causes the supernatural power of Heaven to overthrow the natural circumstances of this afflicted woman.

The story of the woman with the issue of blood is woven into another example of agreement. It is the story of Jairus, the synagogue ruler whose daughter is at the point of death (Mk 5:22-43). Jairus, like the infirmed woman, is in agreement with Jesus’ healing power. He is desperate to get Jesus to his house to lay hands on his daughter, that the little girl might be healed and live.

Jesus, Jairus, and a sizable crowd are on the road to Jairus’ house. Then, the procession is stilled by Jesus interaction with the woman, who has laid hold of His healing power.

• The woman and Jairus are both in agreement with Jesus as healer.
• Jesus is in agreement with His Father.

The crowds seem to be in agreement with one another that this is quite a spectacle. If there had been agreement for healing in the crowd, there would have been lots of healings take place on the road! ?A point to be understood here is that standing close enough to observe does not constitute agreement.

Agreement is revelation of the truth before us, combined with the force of faith that rises from our hearts.
So, it is no surprise that Jesus slips away from the crowd with only Peter, James, and John. Jesus knows what these three have in them, what He can expect from them. Word has come that the little girl is dead.

• Agreement for healing and life is needed.
• The force of faith must be released.
• Jesus chooses only those who are up for the job to surround Him as He proclaims words of life over the dead girl.

He calls for life just as His Father had called forth life in the beginning: “Let there be light.”(Gen 1:3)

The Son of Righteousness arises with healing in His wings (Malachi 4:2) and He says, “Little girl, I say to you arise.”

In that atmosphere charged with agreement and faith, little girl opens her eyes, stretches her stiff limbs, and allows the breath of heaven to fill her as she rises from her bed…the power of agreement and the force of faith!

Church, the power of agreement and the force of faith—now I would call that the knock out combination and every Wed night @ 6:30, we are praying in faith and agreement for people and their needs. Won’t you join us this week and if you aren’t able to do so, then link your faith with us for God’s supernatural power to be at work.

This week we are praying for:

Peoples’ needs—jobs, housing, transportation, resources for daily bread and for sowing of seed

Wisdom for direction—many people are in asking for wisdom and understanding for important decisions that need to be made

Closure—let’s pray for those that are waiting on deals, contracts, litigations, land, etc to come to a positive end.

Pray for successful transition as we move towards the new location

Pray for our leaders in government positions

Pray for our church leadership

Church—have a blessed week and remember, we are in agreement with you that God’s perfect will is established in you, “on earth as its already been established in heaven”!
