Your citizenship is in Heaven

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Wow, have you seen the news lately? According to CNN, ABC and other similar news reporting agencies, it doesn’t look so good for America these days.

But I’m happy to report to those of you who know Jesus, we are aliens on this planet! Ephesians 3:20-21 says, “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body”.

Call it “getting older” or whatever you would like, but I have a keener sense of eternity than ever before.

I am also happy to report that there is no recession in heaven nor is there any need for economic bailouts, stimulus packages, or coming elections. Now I know that those things are important on this earth, so while I poke a bit of fun at what is whirling around us at the present, I know how easy it is to put our eyes on the overwhelming circumstances. And yet, eternity is now and heaven is more real than what we are bombarded with everyday!

Friends, don’t let your faith drown in the sea of sluggish economy, negative thinking and bleak forecasts that surround us daily. Don’t let the fear of the unknown swallow you or your dreams.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up”. (Heb 12:1-3 NLT)

Just reminding you to “lift up your heads—your redemption draws nigh”! Ps Joe and Becky and the team

PS “Friends don’t let friends worry about things they can’t change! (a small note from our Ps Ryan C)

Post One 80

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

After finishing an incredible week of meetings, we wanted to share some of the good things that happened during the week. We saw people come to know Jesus for the first time. Some folks said this was their very first time in a revival and that God had healed them supernaturally. Students gave testimonies to the breakthroughs they received during the corporate worship times and many guests who were in, due to “Ike”, spoke of God confirming His plans for good for their lives. One 80 was exactly as it was named–many of us experienced change far beyond our natural minds.

I believe what God did this past week was life changing for so many. Those of us who have been around the move of God for so long take for granted God’s tangible presence touching lives for the very first time. However, it brings back the importance of taking time throughout the year to “jump off the wheel” (as I like to call it) of weekend American church and press into the realms of God for His tangible working in our lives.

Our Thanks for Giving Revival is set for Nov 23-25. Join us as we come together to worship the Lord for His goodness and faithfulness in our lives. Ps Joe and Becky

Closing thought–if you have a testimony from One 80, leave us a comment. We would love to hear from you!

ONE 80 Sept 14-19

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

we are excited about revival beginning Sunday, Sept 14-19. This year, we are calling our Fall Revival, “ONE 80” and believe me, all of us (pastors included) are in need of 180° change! Service times are 10:00 am Mon-Fri and 7:00 pm Sun-Fri. Church, set aside this week and ask God to change you! Invite you friends, enemies, families and co-workers and lets go ONE 80!

Revival, it’s been quite a catch phrase in Charismatic churches over the last 20 years. The word, “revival” is defined as “the state of being revived; to return to life, consciousness, vigor, strength, or a flourishing condition”. Notice what the scriptures have to say along these lines–

Psalm 80:18?Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name.
Psalm 85:6?Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?
Isaiah 57:15?For this is what the high and lofty One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.

Here are 6 things we are going to be praying for Wednesday night. I certainly hope you will be able to join us for our Recharge service @ 6:30 pm. Mighty things are wrought in the place of corporate prayer.

1. HUNGER

Psalm 107:9 NIV “For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things”.

Matthew 5:6 NIV “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled”.

2. REPENTANCE

Acts 3:19 AMP “So repent (change your mind and purpose); turn around and return [to God], that your sins may be erased (blotted out, wiped clean), that times of refreshing (of recovering from the effects of heat, of reviving with fresh air) may come from the presence of the Lord.”

3. HOLINESS

Isa 35: 8-10 NIV “And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness. The unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it”.

9 No lion will be there, nor will any ferocious beast get up on it; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there,
10 and the ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; ?everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, ?and sorrow and sighing will flee away”.

Ephesians 4:23-24 NIV “to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness”.

4. WORSHIP

2 Chronicles 5:12-14 NIV “All the Levites who were musicians—Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun and their sons and relatives—stood on the east side of the altar, dressed in fine linen and playing cymbals, harps and lyres. They were accompanied by 120 priests sounding trumpets.

13 The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, they raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang: ?”He is good; His love endures forever.” Then the temple of the LORD was filled with a cloud,

14 and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the temple of God.

5. RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE, JOY

Romans 14:16-17 NIV “Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil.

17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit”.

Psalms 126:1-3 NIV “When the LORD brought back the captives to Zion,
we were like men who dreamed.

2 Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.”

3 The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy”.

6. ETERNITY

Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end”.

John 4:14 NIV “But whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal”.

Friends, have a fantastic week and we look forward to seeing you in the house of the Lord for Recharge on Wed @ 6:30, Sunday Services, 8:30 and 11:00, and ONE 80 everyday this coming week!

Blessings,
Ps Joe and Becky and the team

Bangkok Reports

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Hello, We have just returned from Bangkok Thailand after a fantastic week of training hungry worshippers and seeing God touch so many with the fire of revival with our dear friend, Ps Varun Laohaprasit.

This was our second trip to Thailand and the Lord has definitely planted a passion and a love in our hearts for that nation. Thailand is ripe for a great harvest and Ps Lao and the team there are beginning churches all over Bangkok and the nearby provinces, causing a great need to raise up pastors and musicians to facilitate the work there. To that end, we are prayerfully considering opening an IFTA School of Ministry there in the very near future. You will be hearing more about this exciting opportunity as plans develop. We have many pictures and will be sharing more about our trip in the weekend services.
