Holiday Happenings

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

Hey friends and family, I trust this writing finds you blessed. Thanksgiving was a special time for this ministry.  We had a super time with our Thanks for Giving Revival.  CWC and Centro de Adoracion (our hispanic congregation) came together for an awesome time in God’s presence.  We were able to bless three couples in our church because of the generosity of our congregations. Our family dinner on Tuesday evening was a great way to cap off a wonderful time of celebration.

As we turn our thoughts toward the Christmas holidays, we want to remind you of our Love Out Loud Outreach coming up on December 9.  What a great opportunity to lay aside the over-commercialism of Christmas in lieu of meeting the needs of others in our community!  We will be giving away groceries, baby items, and toys along with fun and ministry for the whole family.  Don’t miss out on this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those that need some extra help this time of year.  If you know of folks in need, invite them to the outreach, Sunday, Dec 9th from 3:00-5:00 pm on the City Worship Centre parking lot.  (9221 hwy 290 W just 3 miles past the “Y” in Oakhill)  We are hoping to bless many people during this special event. (for more details call 512.301.0471 or email Ps Ryan and Tressa Cruse @ tressacruse07@aol.com

Also, our Family Christmas Musical is coming up Sunday, Dec 16 @ 7:00 pm.  Come and enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas as both schools and church alike join together for a wonderful time of celebrating the Christmas season.

Here’s some great news!  If you don’t already receive our weekly newsletters, you may access them through this site.  Click on the icon that says “City Worship Centre Newsletters” and keep up with our weekly communications.  For the last year, we have been sharing on the topic of prayer, and you and I know you will be blessed by the teachings each week.

If you have any comments, or praise reports or prayer requests–we would love to hear from you.  This blog is a great opportunity to connect with us.   We look forward to hearing what God is doing in and through you!

More later–much blessings–Ps Becky Cruse

Winning the lost at any cost

Friday, November 16th, 2007

Hey family and friends–

The Cruses are in Louisville Ky this week with our dear friend, Ps Rodney Howard Browne, from Tampa Fl, for his Great Awakening Crusade. What an amazing week it has been with almost 8,000 decisions being made for Christ! We are privileged to be a part of the harvest in the last days.

I’ve been so blessed by the testimonies of those on the streets. Many come to the services at night and talk about their personal experiences sharing the gospel. I believe that what we are seeing here is but a foretaste of what the Lord wants to do all over America.

You know, if it was only about big churches and mega preachers, it seems that with what we see in this country these days, that we would have already evangelized the whole nation! I’m not convinced that it is strictly about “big and bigger” but it will take a grass roots effort and a real heart for the “one on one” to see the next awakening in our nation.

I really honor the heart and passion for souls that Revival Ministries, Intl has. They have laid it on the line, “winning the lost at any cost! If you get an opportunity, go to their website and check out some of the videos, pictures and testimonies of their efforts. You will be blessed. www.revival.com

Also, don’t forget to join us for our Thanks for Giving Revival beginning this Sunday, November 18- 20th! It is a wonderful time to come together as a corporate body to thank and praise the Lord for His goodness and faithfulness in our lives! You can find more details on our website, www.wmiglobal.org and click on the City Worship Centre icon.

Lots more next time!

We trust that this writing finds you blessed and prospering in the love and faithfulness of our God!

As we turn our hearts towards the “Thanks for Giving” Revival, we want to stop a moment and give God some praise for you, our church family and friends! Church, you were just a dream in our hearts seven years ago and today, we cannot imagine our lives without each one of you. You bless us in so many ways. You dream our dreams, carry our burdens and serve us as unto the Lord like few churches we’ve ever known. We been up together, down together and plenty of places in between together and the test of time is this - you’re still here, and faithful, and love the Lord with all your hearts.

We also want to take a moment and recognize our team of dedicated people who labor along side of us. Of course, the pastoral/admin.staff—Pastors Stan and Kym Whitmore, Ms. Glenna Morrison, Pastors Ryan and Tressa Cruse, Pastors Jody and Vanessa Cruse, Pastors Jay and Kari Crisman, Pastors Billy and Maritza Cano and Pastors Jess and Jenn Tomac - what an incredible team! We truly love each of you and thank God for all you do. We cannot even pretend to think we could do what God has called us to, without your expertise and your faithfulness to the Lord. You bless us everyday of our lives and we are eternally grateful to the Lord for linking us together.

Also, for our deacons, Centre-g leaders, Equip leaders and Servant leaders - Your heart to serve and to impart what God has put in you is such a blessing and a Godly example of “the greater works”! We love each one of you and want to say thanks for your love, faithfulness, and support.

We are incredibly blessed by all the volunteer students, teachers, and support staff - you know who you are! As you make things happen for this vision here - God will make things happen for you! Don’t you dare despise the days of small beginnings! God is at work on your behalf. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

The following scriptures come to mind as we rehearse God’s goodness!

2Th. 1:3 “Dear brothers and sisters, we always thank God for you, as is right, for we are thankful that your faith is flourishing and you are all growing in love for each other.”

   And

2Tim. 1:3 “I thank God for you. He is the God I serve with a clear conscience, just as my ancestors did. Night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers.

2Tim. 1:4 I long to see you again, for I remember your tears as we parted. And I will be filled with joy when we are together again.

2Tim. 1:5 I know that you sincerely trust the Lord, for you have the faith of your mother, Eunice, and your grandmother, Lois.

2Tim. 1:6 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you.

2Tim. 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”

We just wanted to remind each one of you, as we come together for a season of revival, to stir up the gift of God and fan the flames—for God has given you everything you need to walk in victory here on this earth. Sometimes we feel inadequate and inept, but God has given us power, and love and the discipline to not only preserve, but to do so with joy.

Today, as we pray that prayer of agreement, we are standing in faith for–

1. A harvest of blessing during our revival–blessings there are not room enough to receive. We are praying for a fresh wind of the Spirit that would revive each one of us.

(Acts 3:19 “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.”)

2. A harvest of souls - let’s invite our unsaved friends or family to church this coming week - we are asking God that He would prepare the way and open their hearts to receive the invitation to come to Him.

(Luke 10:2 “He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”)

3. A harvest of revelation - that the eyes of our understanding would be opened that we might know what the perfect will of the Lord is.

(Eph. 1:18 “I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints.”)

4. A harvest of spiritual gifts released in our lives - what do you have to give? God will work in you before He works through you. By being faithful with the “little”, He will entrust to you the greater.

1Cor. 12:4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.

1Cor. 12:5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.

1Cor. 12:6 There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.

1Cor. 12:7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

1Cor. 12:8 To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,

1Cor. 12:9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,

1Cor. 12:10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

1Cor. 12:11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

Church, our revival is only three days! We are all very busy, but we believe that if we set aside this time together, God will meet us and bring the very things to us that we so desperately search for!

Beginning with our Recharge service Wed evening @ 6:30, let?s come together to lift our voices corporately for a great harvest beginning Sunday.

The revival schedule is as follows:

Sunday, Nov. 18th @ 8:30 and 11:00 am and 7:00 pm. We want to welcome Ps Dean and Jane Bearden, from Corpus Christi, TX as they minister in the Sunday evening service.

Monday, Nov 19th @ 7:00pm. Both congregations, CWC and Centro de Adoracion come together for a time of worship and celebration as one family.

Tuesday, Nov 20 @ 10:00 am and 7:00 pm. Join with the students of IFTA for their Thanksgiving chapel and then in the evening, our Thanksgiving dinner/service together.

You should be receiving a phone call this week as a reminder. We are very excited and look forward with great anticipation, to all God has for each of us. Remember, in lieu of our revival, there will be no Wed prayer service.

Harvest Blessings,

Ps Joe and Becky and the team

21st Century

Friday, November 9th, 2007

After 35 years of ministry, and primarily communicating with paper and pen, we are actually moving into the 21st Century! In the days ahead, we will be posting thoughts, ideas, and messages the Lord has given us regarding worship and the local church. Soon after the first of the year, we will be linking up with Song Discovery, a website subsidiary of Worship Leader Magazine. They have asked us to write a small thought each month around worship. This is a great opportunity for us and we look forward to communicating some of the revelation God has given us through the years.

This coming year promises to be the greatest in the history of our ministry. Please join us for the latest ministry news and events.

Greetings church!  It is so good to be back on American soil. We are awaiting the last leg of our flight back to Austin and are rehearsing the goodness of God with regards to our trip to Bangkok. There are so many testimonies to tell and pictures to share. We are forever changed by the love, the pureness, the joy and the hunger of the Thai people.Bangkok is a city with over 16 million people and 95% of the population is Buddhist. The other 5% is Hindu, Muslim, or Christian. Of the Christian sect, fewer still are Pentecostal and those that are, feel isolated and overwhelmed. I truly believe that God will use our friend, Dr. Lao (a native Thai) to go back home and reach his people with the fire of God.

On Monday, we were invited to go to the Grand Palace. It is the primary shrine for Buddhist worship in the nation. It is also the King of Thailand’s second home. Many American presidents have visited and stayed on the grounds. In visiting this site, we discovered that there are over 200,000 Buddhist Temples in the country of Thailand alone. The temples are guarded by 12 demon statues used for idol worship. They are considered “good demons” that provide protection for the temples. Atop every shrine, and on the corners of the buildings are serpents that are there to again protect the temples from “evil spirits”. Isn’t the devil a liar?

We will be sharing more this coming weekend in the services but the one thing we noticed, with the Thai people’s strong belief in the supernatural, they have no trouble embracing the supernatural power of God when they are witnesses of His power! Praise be to God for His indescribable goodness!

As we stated earlier, we want to share more from our trip and hope you will be in attendance this weekend. God has divinely connected us to this beautiful land and we are believing God to return next year with those of you who might be interested in going on a missionary journey!

Our thanks to Ps Jay and the entire team who covered services in our absence. We heard God was in the house and for that, we are grateful.

2Cor. 9:10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.

2Cor. 9:11 You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

2Cor. 9:12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

2Cor. 9:13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.

2Cor. 9:14 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you.

2Cor. 9:15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

Regarding prayer this week, we will be focusing on prayer from a grateful heart. Church, we have so much to be thankful for. As we turn our attention toward our Thanks for Giving Revival, we are going to be expressing our gratefulness to the Lord for the many areas we find His blessing!

1. We are grateful for our families

2. We are grateful for our church and the ministries of CWC

3. We are grateful for God’s blessing in our lives

4. We are grateful for God’s power in our lives

5. We are grateful for God’s protection

6. We are grateful for our country

7. We are grateful for our leaders

8. We are grateful for our church families and friends

9. We are asking the Lord to increase our borders

10. We are asking the Lord to make our future clear, both personally and corporately.

We hope to see all of you this week. Come and join us - we have much to thank Him for!

Blessings,

Ps Joe and Becky and the team

Bangkok first day

Saturday, November 3rd, 2007

What can we say! Our first day of meetings here in Thailand were more than we could imagine. The people are so very hungry for the touch of God in their lives. In the morning meeting, we had around 700 in attendance for the worship conference. They did not expect that many for a morning service–they had never had one before! The people enjoyed the worship and Ps Joe taught on TEAM ministry. Afterwards, he prayed for all 700 in attendance. It was overwhelming.

Tonight, the ballroom was packed as people kept coming in. Dr. Varun Laohaprasit spoke on the joy of the Lord and many people were touched for the very first time. He too prayed for everyone in attendance. I would say there were at least 1200 people in attendance. In the middle of his message, they were adding chairs!

I am going to try and upload some pics from todays’ meetings! Hope you enjoy them! Ps Joe and Becky
